So sorry to hear of Doug's passing. He had cut my hair just days before and as always he was friendly, funny, informative, wise and welcoming. I always looked forward to spending my time in his chair. He was a model for us all, engaged in the community, helpful, hopeful and always with a smile. Rest in peace, my friend. Bill Daverne

My sympathy goes out to Mrs Hawley and the family. I visited Doug monthly for a haircut for 26 years, the first 16 as a resident of Bath, more recently by driving from my home in Kingston. In addition to a good haircut, I received helpful advice, most particularly in his recommendation for a new family physician. On top of that there was interesting news of activities in Bath and exchanges of our life experiences, often with a touch of humour. I will surely miss this special friend.
